On October 22nd, IIM hosted a transportation seminar at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown, PA.  We were filled to maximum capacity with approximately 100 people in attendance, including IIM Transportation Personnel and agents from five different states.

Our instructor was Thomas Ruke from Insurance Business Consultants, Inc. in Ft. Myers, FL.  Topics included an update on the current status of the Trucking Industry, the Motor Carrier Coverage Form, the Unified Carrier Registration Agreement, and the Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) 2010.  Attendees received six hours of Continuing Education Credits.

Three IIM personnel -- Jack Buchan, Larry DeFrances, and myself (Denny Beecher) all made brief presentations during the day.  We were also fortunate to have Chris Fawcett of Zurich North America in attendance to offer input, and to speak about Zurich’s new long-haul program.

This was one of several transportation seminars that we have hosted in various states throughout the last ten years.  Others will be sure to follow.
